About me

I am a PhD student working at the Laboratoire Jacques-Louis Lions (Sorbonne Université) in Paris under the supervision of Bruno Després and Frédérique Charles. In the context of kinetic theory, the behaviour of a plasma is fully described by the Vlasov-Maxwell system. However, since this system is complex and (in the 3D case) of large dimension, it becomes difficult to conduct precise numerical simulations without very large amounts of computing power. The aim of my research is to study models from plasma physics that are less complex than Vlasov-Maxwell but that still capture the essential physical properties of the plasma. This is done by studying these models at both a theoretical (PDE analysis) and numerical level (designing efficient numerical methods).
